The first time ever, UBL Mondays has come to an end with the Grand Finals for Season 1! And the finalists are the best of what the divisions had to offer with the top teams going through and facing off for the prize and glory of a UBL championship!
Division 1 was a much anticipated match up with the Number 1 seed Devestation Nation and the Number 2 seed Rilla Raptors taking each other on in what has become a rivalry surmounting to this conclusion, and it started highly defensive, the first quarter didn’t have many points drop as players got their shot on and worked out the other strategies, 13-9 D-Nations way before the short break, Wil D getting warmed up with 4 in the quarter. 2nd quarter had the lock down defense put on the big scorer Mal from Raptors, and Will D got to work with 8 making the lead 32-18 D nations way, a lead that would be hard to overcome for the Raptors the final score 55 – 44 Raptors trying to make a late run, but came up short as the frustrations set in and some players got into foul trouble, allowing D Nation to ice the lead and the Championship!
Standout performances on the night were Mal Picken, 19 points, Corey M on 8, Jamie C on 9 boards, and A Picken with 7pts 8boards from Raptors, and Devestation Nation had Will D the finals MVP on 24points and 7 rebounds, James B got 8 boards to help out the bigs, Nate Connolly got 13 and 4 assists. Dev Nation telling factor was the 12 assists, all other starts were very similar.
Congrats to the Devestation Nation and its people, they are crowned champions in a hard fought match, Rilla raptors fought hard but were unlucky in the end, great effort to those boys too as they made for a solid Grand Finals.
Division 2 had the Mighty Ballerz take on Drews Crew, the late season entrants who mounted a great streak and a solid playoff performance in order to get to the Finals, although missing their star forward Dr Elliot Jones, the crew was ready to take on the Ballerz that are mighty, in height and hustle.

Mighty Bs not looking back as they pushed the break and exploited the small ball mid range game of the Crew. 3rd quarter flowed on to the next the height of the 2 bigs Stretch n Ed too much on the glass, not allowing many 2nd chance points, resulting in a Mighty Ballerz championship!
Standout performances on the night were Ed Steed, a huge Double Double on 14 points and 17 rebs, a finals MVP performance, whilst Stretch on 10 points and 15 rebounds a Double Double shooting a good percentage for Mighty Ballerz, Brynn got 13 points and 10 rebs for Drews Crew, not getting as many looks as hed like due to the fast reacting D of Mighty Bs, Jay on 10 points and Sab on 8.
Congrats to Mighty Ballerz, Division 2 champions!! Great work also by Drews crew, gracious in defeat and played hard to the end despite the gap they were chasing, they look to bounce back stronger next season.
