GRAND FINALS!! Div1 and Div 2 teams have battled all year for ladder points all to get the matchups int he playoffs that would lead them to potential greatness, in Div2 it was the overpowered juggernaught #talktomebro vs Gongstar, and the three peat hopeful Has Beanz vs the Super Hungry and stacked Pistons in Division 1, it would prove to not disappoint the crowd as the hustle went to level 11 and the finalist leave it all on the court.
Divison 1 had the Pistons against the Has Beanz…AGAIN! the rematch again after last years overtime loss, Pistons were building to this moment all season, and beyond, coming from Division 2 from way back Winning Div 2 Back to Back, then Losing the Last 3 Div 1 Grand Finals in a row.
And playing in their 6th straight Grand Final Together. Has BEanz have beaten Pistons in the last Two Grand Finals including the heartbreaking loss in Overtime Last season. Has Beanz keen to get the 3 peat going after a great season with little losses, but their task would be tough with a different lineup going into this one compared to the last 2 titles, what would the basketball gods have in their plans for this game?
1st Quarter started with Has Beanz getting the tip and optening up with an and1 in side, the buckets started to flow after that, Reggie getting his game on with 11 points in the quarter, 2 threes and a bunch of three throws as Has Beanz got into some foul trouble, as well as 8 turnovers to 4, the quarter ended 14-12.
2nd quarter was where the game shifted, in a huge, (Durant in this years Finals) turn of events, the main guy for Has BEanz, the best Elliot J went to almost the same spot as Durant and went down on an awkward ankle roll putting him out for the rest of the match, this was huge as Elliot is worth a 25+ point double double on the regular, and he left with 4 points and 5 rebounds, Has Beanz battled on but the Pistons came out hungry for some 3s, and Tim Shaw hit 1…but wait…theres more! he went on to hit 2 more to make 3 in a row and put the gap in the score putting Pistons in control.. 3rd quarter started and this is typically the quarter than can swing the game, Has Beanz went to work but the shorts weren’t all on point, still smashing the glass 32-15 but Pistons were getting 3s and free throws, which were making all the difference, Pistons more handsy on defense with 12 steal to 6. The quarter was won by the Has Beanz 20-16 giving them enough momentum to make a run in the 4th..score…43-39 Pistons.
The 4th saw the Has Beanz rest their old bones and come out strong with a quick run to close the gap to 2…45-43 with 7:20 left in the 4th, the attack was steady but so was the resistance, and Pistons tried to keep the Has Beanz from getting close. Has Beanz were able to get a quick run together at the end using garbage time to try scrape up a Pistons mistake, but it was too late, not enough time, with the last points going to a Has BEanz 3 from the corner but leaving no time left to get 1 last shot in. The difference only a bucket, 2 points, an amazing finish in a great match of 2 team full of talented ballers who always give their best and put a great display of sportsman ship on to conclude the season in a great way…

Over to Division 2! #talktomebro finished this season undefeated, they finished last season with out many losses, and it was their 2nd dominant season in a row, no doubt ready and keen for a new challenge, but one thing stood in their way, the Gonstar crew who have been OG UBL ballers from way back, some veterans and some young bloods trying to get a come from behind title as clear underdogs.
The game started close and #talktomebro out for blood immediately as they got hammering on the break and started the press. Gongstar going to the paint shooting 50% for the period, Big man Alex starting a big game with some free throw line activity that wouldn’t abate. The score at the end of the quarter was 13-7 in favour of #talktomebro Jed P with 8 points so far, to lead #talktomebro Dan M started to get some threes up, warming up fo the next quarter…
2nd quarter was the defining quarter which decided the game, Gonstars already in a little hole, they pushed their offense and kept up on D, but the 3s from Dan M and unselfish passes from Corey and Ahmad got everyone going which was key for this 27-6 run, a huge run with 4 threes by Dan M, and the other boys throwing in a bucket or 2 each, 40-13 was the score by the end of the first half, #talktomebro winning all categories, 18-11 on boards, 50 TFG% to 39%, 11 assists to 1, this run was almost impossible to stop and possibly not able to be overcome, but Gongstar kept at it!
3rd quarter begun with both teams still fighting, one for the lead retention, one to catch up, but #talktomebro kept up the attack finishing up this quarter with some Big scores so far, Luke A 12 points 9 rebounds so far, Dan M with 15, Jed P with 15 pts, Gongstar had only put up 4 threes with no success till now, whereas the #talktomebro crew had put up 21 and hit on 8 of them, #talktomebro also leading in steals showing more defensive being played,Connor M had this quarter in his back pocket with some huge cuts to the rim and quick buckets for 8 points of layups for sure owning the quarter and keeping the lead.
4th period and it wasd the last one for both teams, one would be winner, one wouldn’t, and so far, there were no miracles, or T-mac x100 so the quarter would go on in the same fashion, Gongstars getting a few buckets, then #talktomebro stifling the runs and keeping the gap, by the end of the quarter, Alex P had 13 in the quarter, a huge effort, but it wasn’t enough the damage done early, the hole dug from way back, Gongstars held their heads high and conceded defeat to a powerhouse of a team pulling great players from all UBL comps, and finishing a winning formula, #talktomebro 82-53 a dominant win…and chips back to back, well done!
The team vs team run down #talktomebro was all over it, 5 less turnovers, 13 steals to 5, 33 rebs to 31, Total FG% was almost even by 1% but the determining factor was the 3 pointers, 11 of 33 for #talktomebro and 0 of 5 for Gongstar, the 33 points from threes there about the same scoreline gap that they won by!
Player performances go to Alex P with a huge huge game 25 points 14 rebs for a sick double double, 12 points for Andrei, and 10 for Mark M shooting 100% FGs but one mans game wasn’t enough as they weren’t able to stop the runs, and if you cant stop the runs, then you cant get momentum, which lied with the shooters on #talktomebro Dan M with team high 24 points, 4 rebs on 36% FGs, Luke A with a 15 point 9 reb game on 47% FG, Corey the bulldog point guard was feeling slippery and slid in 8 assists selflessly guiding the offense, Conor M with 14 points, and Jed P with 14 points and 7 rebs 4 steals….Draymond esque numbers.
With #talktomebro coming up to Div1, Dan M will take his Div1 an Div2 titles this season to try and create a new story in the new season. The comp will look different next season, still epic games, still epic highlights and big finishes!!
