1st quarter started with Dellys Disciples opening the quarter with a 17-2 run that put Shaqtin' a Fools in a hole big time, the mission to catch up starting off slow as Elliot started things off with 7 for his team whilst everyone from Dellys was scoring mounting to a 9 point lead after 12 mins of play. Owen C and Jack M leading the way for Dellys with 6 and 5.
2nd quarter Shaqtin' a Fools started clawing back as Elliot started firing and was hitting most of his looks with 19 in the game so far, Andy K was hitting the jump hook whilst Sean Q and Owen were beasts for Dellys Disciples on the inside forcing the smaller Shaqtn D to foul alot and send Sean to the line keeping things in Dellys control. Shaqtn stepping up big time to catch up in the quarter with some big plays inside. The 2nd half would end with DEllys up 2 points in the game, Shaqtn still had alot of work to do!
3rd quarter Shaqtin' a Fools had to readjust to the defense from Dellys as they kept pushing the ball to their big man Quinn who was met with alot of Shaqtn defenders and fouls sending him to the line for 9 FTs so far. Elliot kept up his pressure on the D but it was still a Dellys Disciples controlled game with the lead back to 7 points for them as the quarter ended, Sean Q with 18 so far and Owen with 12.
4th quarter started off with Shaqtin' a Fools looking hungry for the lead and they caught up to go back and forth with buckets till the final minutes. Shaqtin' a Fools were doing some great work with screens and were faced with putting together a play to even the score with seconds left. Elliot drove and dumped it off to Andy K who hit a layup to force over time which would send us to another 2 minutes of epic finals action! Sean Q was a beast with 24 so far and 15 rebs after the quarter was done, and Elliot J with 33 big ones.
Overtime started off and it was 2 minutes of fast paced action which would result in a strong close out for Shaqtin' a Fools. Corey J was able to hit a fadeaway and Elliot iced the game with free throws to go almost perfect from the line 13 of 14. A great finish and a hard fought win for Shaqtin' a Fools, Dellys come off 2nd best but fought hard after a long season. Both teams last in qualification for playoffs but did a great job getting to the grand finals through alot of tough teams!
Top Performers from Shaqtin' a Fools were Elliot J with 37 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, Andy K on 18 points 17 rebounds on 53% shooting. Corey with 12 rebs 6 points and Anthony with 4 steals. Top Performers from Dellys Disciples were Sean Q with a monster 26 points 17 rebs 4 blocks, Owen W with 13 points 10 rebounds on 55% shooting and Jack M on 15 points 8 rebs 3ast and 3 steals!

Div 2 Grand Finals

1st quarter Foy Boys started off with a 9-0 run, Finbar leading the way with 9 points in the quarter getting going from midrange and from deep. Foy Boys controlled the boards 12-7 and Gong Heavy had Paul come out with 5 points but couldnt stop the turnovers committing 6 in the quarter to Foy Boys 2 giving them the 10 point lead at the quarter. Gong Heavy had some work to do after this 12 minutes as they started to play catchup.
2nd quarter played out in a similar was with Gong Heavy keeping up the pace and putting in some points from Cody and Ali but they werent seeing much luck from the 3 point line or inside for boards and 2nd chance points. Finbar still surging with 14 points so far. Foy Boys looking to push and build on the lead but Gong Heavy werent going away so easily, as they trailed by single digits now, 8 points after a half of play.
3rd quarter action tipped off and Michael Fearn was getting some put backs to go with a monster 11 rebs so far in the game after 3 quarters. Paul G, Ali and Cody for Foy Boys have combined for 19 so far, but needed more points from somewhere as Foy Boys covered the break well. Gong Heavy now down 12 at the end of the half, the rebounds their biggest worry as they were losing the boards 33-19 by this point.\ with only 12 mins left of the game!
4th quarter Foy Boys jumped out like they were losing and put in some big work to build on their lead they established early game. Gong Heavy tried their best to fight back, Paul G getting some big shots to fall and Ali sinking a few but the gap in score was too much to cover and Foy Boys kept scoring to get up by double their 3rd quarter lead to win convincingly in the end.
Top Performers from Foy Boys were Finbar M on 22 points, 16 boards on 56% shooting and Mick Fearn on 13 rebs 2 blocks and 6 points and Liam S on 10 points. Gong Heavy saw Paul G drop 13 points 5 rebs and 2 steals, Ali M with 8pts Cody C on 5.

Div 3 Grand Finals

1st quarter Pippin aint easy came out running and popping up some long range shots to hoe to get the lead quick, but they werent able to land, The Airballers took the opposite approach and passed the ball around to try find the higher percentages shot, usually in the paint which allowed them to get a groove going as a team. Sam T was leading the way with 4 for Airballers and Curtis B 4 from Pippin aint easy , both teams on 11 points at the end of the quarter. Airballers controlled the boards but turned the ball over a little, both teams playing hard to make for a great game!
2nd quarter the Airballers able to control the pace with many fouls inside, giving them free throws to keep their score going up which at the end of the 12 it was 3 points giving Pippin aint easy the task of trying to get some 3s to break the scoreline open. Airballers up by 3 at the end of this quarter, Airballers still controlling the boards givin them the edge going into the 2nd half. Anthony K had 10 so far and Brayden S was the leader for Pimpin aint easy. The 2nd half of this grind of a game was next and would be a game changing quarter!
3rd quarter Pippin aint easy kept on pushing the break and getting the ball to their creators on offense, Anthony K and Curtis B who were getting work done inside the paint, making them get some and1s that allowed them to keep creeping ahead to try and get the lead agains the well performing Airballers. Sam T and Brayden till with 19 combined for the game so far. The difference in score was only 4 points at the end of 12min, making for a great 4th quarter to come!
4th quarter Pippin aint easy able to make some big time clutch plays to keep anthony K going to the line to keep the score close, so clsoe that it forced overtime after Anthony and Curtis attacked over and over chasing up their own boards to get the score to an even 42 at the end of the quarter forcing overtime! Airballers needing to close out the last 2 mins to make sure they get the chip.
Overtime started off with both teams still playing excellent D not allowing any shots, the only one came from a Sam Thorny post move that showed some great footwork and got the team up by 2 points to win the championship for this season!
Top Performers from Pippin aint easy were Anthony K on 18points and 6 rebs, 6 steals. Curtis B on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Airballers were treated with big games from Thorny on 18 points 22 rebs on 67% shooting. Brayden on 9pts and 6rebs and Cracy J on 7.
Airballers crowned Div 3 champions for this season, finally getting it done!
Div 4 Grand Finals

1st quarter Illawarriors came out looking for the drive and were seeing if anyone could get hot and Jake D stepped up big time scoring his first 4 shots in a row to amass 8 points in the quarter helped out by Corey to get a good momentum going. But Crep Kings also had some hot starts as Jaz started off with 5 and Mo G and Ryan L hitting a three each to give them the lead by 4 going into the 2nd quarter.
2nd quarter saw much of the same action , with Crep Kings sharing the ball around the wings to look for their shooters who were on target this quarter, extending the lead to 7 points as the Illawarriors tried to snatch the momentum back for the rest of the game. Crep Kings were strong on the glass and at this point outrebounding Illawarriors by 14, getting the advantge with 2nd chance points. the hald would end 22-15 with the defense on show makinng for a low scoring game.
3rd quarter had some sparks on offense for Illawarriors as almost everyone was scoring this game, Zen and Corey on 4 each for Illawarriors, and Jaz was the leader for Crep Kings at this point with 12 and Mo G was on 8. The pace was quick and both teams were pushing the ball up the court for fast breaks and lockingn down on the 3 point shot, Crep Kings were stronger from deep with 4 threes so far to Illas 1 which allowd them to lead by 8 after the 3rd quarter siren sounded.
4th quarter Crep Kings were tasked to close out the game and stop an Illawarriors comeback which was brewing, but quickly stoppped by some hot scoring by Jaz and Mo again who cimbined for 10 in the quarter to keep the lead hovering around the double digit mark till the final horn. Illawarriors mounted a last minute run but werent able to close the gap as the Crep Kings stayed composed and saw this one out in control.
Top Performers from Illawarriors were Jake D on 12points and 5rebs, Corey on 8points 4 rebs. Crep Kings got some good output from MVP Jaz M who notched 17 points 6 rebs, 3 assits and 3 blocks. Mohammed G with 13points and 50% from 3. Charlie led the team with 7 rebounds!
