The 3rd round of Tuesdays and the teams pushed on in the heat to keep the ball moving, starting with Div 1 featured a few first time matchups which took one team by surprise!
Chargers pounced on the defense of opponents, the Top Gunz in a game that started close but ended one sided. Tim S with an epic performance and great score of 29 points to get over the line. . Matty B the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 11 points to ensure they get the win this round. whilst on the other team, Dean S points from slashing and finding the gaps in the zone D. 10 points on the sheet , Doug K 8 & Brent H scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 8 points together as they go down in this matchup. First half was as slow start, till the extra passes and mid range got going for Chargers, 2s dropped also as Top Gunz pushed it inside, their 3 points shot heavily defended so they copped a loss for it fighting 2s with 3s…Chargers 1st place
FAC liked the matchup with Barrack Heights Grizzlies in a physical matchup that will set the tone for next time. Oscar S just too much touch on the midrange shot with 24 points to shut the defense down. Jethro ended up with an efficient 9 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Mal P let it fly and hit more than missed with 12 points recorded by the bench , Daniel B was feeling good with 5 points helping out with the teams offensive load. FAC looking strong as they got their game going strong inside and from the mid range, Grizzlies hustles hard with their physical play but were short on some plays not going their way, FAC stay atop the ladder with some solid play this game, Grizzlies looking to get momentum in to the next few rounds to climb the ladder
Div 2 welcomes new team, Mango Slices, ready to get in the mix and shake up the division, which looks to be anyones chance to take the top rank right now..
The Whoopsy Fudge Stripes had better offense than the defense of their opponent, Mango Slices and pushed it all the way to the end. Jack O couldnt miss much as he led his team with 13 big ones to conlclude the mission . Paul R pitched in to add to the score with, 10 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Michael B had his ducks in a line with a great game on 9 points but a loss unfortunately , Aaron L kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 5 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Whoopsey still strong with their style of play pushing the break and getting the edge by stealing long passes, the white and gold getting the W on the new team who had some great moments and good finishes, they look to get going and get a run together as they feel out the other teams and how to beat them..
Multiple Scorgasms took the game second half from the Test Eagles and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Michael H couldnt miss much as he led his team with 18 points which was required to keep up in this hectic game. . Ali M pushed the break and went home with a tidy 18 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Trevor S getting stats from everywhere including 21 points as he played his role well and got buckets. , Bailey VL helped out with the load getting 15 points but a loss unfortunately . This game was lit, with huge runs and choppy defense. MS were epic in the first half and followed on in the 2nd with some full court pressure whilst cancelling out the size advantage Test Eagles had by face guarding their bigs, the late wasn’t enough and Test Eagles took the L by 5 points…great in for MS!
Feel Team 6 wins a resounding victory over the unlucky Fighting Ducks in a clinic, taking advantage of lesser defensive matchup. Ryan M got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 21 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Jordan N had a pretty good game scoring wise with 5 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Ivan C scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 18 points but a loss unfortunately , Vikas C played well as far as getting 11 points as he pitched in to add to the score. Feel Team had some weapons and were firing all all angles, mainly from the jumpshot angles and they got the W based on that, Ducks weren’t able to stop the mid range floaters and big threes , even though they had their own inside outside game going strong..Feel Team a good start this season…Ducks still getting used to the new line up.. Div 3 had some games that went to the wire and some that had a gap in score as a result of the extra hustle on this night…
More Buckets were pumped to be playing Parrots and it went to plan as they got a W on the backs of their scorers. Doug D with an epic performance and great score of 24 points to get over the line. . Nick M finished the game with a commendable 7 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Liam TR kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 12 points recorded by the bench , N Dunstan was feeling good with 10 points helping out with the teams offensive load. More Buckets getting the first of the matchups under their name after their previous playoff loss to the Parrots, too much scoring happening on the white teams side and the light blue was just short of the mark, but no doubt hungry for the next matchup!
