Tuesdays Official start to the season is complete for its first round! with the teams in their divisions, the fight for ladder points starts now, teams look to get on a win streak from here and stay out of the losing column, Season 11 is in full swing for Round 1!
Div 1 is now a 7 team race for dubs, with the Div 2 winners coming up and taking their talents to the the other court to mix up the competition and keep the OG Div 1 teams on their toes!
Top Gunz took the game second half from the FAC in this round which would result in a great match. Jerome T heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 22 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Mitch J played well as far as getting 7 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Oscar S with an epic performance and great score of 20 points on the sheet , Zoran M points from slashing and finding the gaps in the zone D. 18 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Top GUnz came out shooting, and hit their buckets when they needed too, keeping the always answering back FAC crew who kept running and pushing the break dishing to the mid range and popping in some Js that kept the game close enough to grasp, but it was just out fo reach for FAC this time, some new acquisitions showing up as JT signs on to the campaign and Top Gunz get the W.
Multiple Scoregasm started strong and got the jump on KillaBeez in a game that had the winners go on scoring runs that werent answered in time. Ali M got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 25 points to shut the defense down. . Michael H 16 & Brayden N got to good spots on the court and shot well with 15 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Macca R getting stats from everywhere including 13 points recorded by the bench , Will G 11 & Mitch L felt it was time to step up and got 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Scorgasms just stepped up another level and took out the ex champs the Killa Beez in a game where they had everything go right and Killabeez felt like everything went wrong, being on the wrong side of the final score for the win was the costly part as Will bombed threes up to try catch the MS crew slipping. Ali had a big game as did Michael and Brayden from the wings and outside…Multiple Scorgasms a huge win, watch out for these cats!
Double Dunkers got a good first ever win on the forever hustling The Bandwagoners and was victorious this round, thanks to some players putting in work. Peter T put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 12 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Jeson 7 & CJ played hard and got the same score on the sheet, with 7 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Edward A was heating up as he bagged 9 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Izaak W played well as far as getting 8 points on the sheet . Dunkers getting it done just in time as they show off their new structure with some zippy guards with a good eye for dimes putting on a show. The Bandwagoners a huge jump from Div3 last season to only go down by 10 this game to one for the best teams in the Div. The Bandwagoners pushed the drives and scrapped for boards to keep the action inside and the key busy. Great game and pretty closely matched crews.
Div 2 was set to explode with the games being close and some big moments including an overtime battle which would go down as the game of the round for Div 2! New teams in the mix, you know its going to be a tight race!
Dream Team gets the W in a much needed and hard fought versus Bricklayers , who underestimated the accuracy of their opponent and copped a loss for it Nathan D getting stats from everywhere including 19 points in the big dominating victory. . Dave G finished the game with a commendable 8 points to get over the line. but on the other side Ethan B kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 13 points as he was operating in automatic mode , Ronnie L scored well with 9 points together as they go down in this matchup. . Dream Team doing their thing and getting the ball to all the right people at the right time. Bricklayers with their huge squad put in work and scored evenly, a crew still building chemistry and take this loss this round despite some flashed of some great basketball. Dream team too many peices to go down this time and get the W and first season win in UBL!
Fighting Mongooses got a good first ever win on the forever hustling BD Ballers in a super close overtime battle decided by the final play, Zac going to work down low in the blender. 14 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . G Bailey Popping up some well timed floaters in the lane getting numbers, with 13 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Cam B had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 15 points but a loss unfortunately , Callum helped out with the load getting 9 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Overtime is always hectic and the 2 teams were evenly matched enough to push the extra time that had to be used to find a winner. The OT period saw the 2 teams get a few more plays to try and decide a winner, this time the big dawg was Zac whos 3 of his 14 points coming in the form of a clutch finish and a free throw to put the game out of reach after BD ballers weren’t able to make a bucket in OT, unlucky but a great game!
Cream City went back and forth but held the lead most of the game against Heat Check in a clinic, taking advantage of lesser defensive matchup. Trent F couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 32 points to get over the line. . Aidan E just too much experience shooting the 3 with 6 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Speedy started scoring later in the game but ended up on 12 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Jake E felt it was time to step up and got 11 points but a loss unfortunately . Cream City took the court like they never left, the boys getting their confidence together to over come the nerves in their S11 debut in Div 2. Starting strong, they had the lead by a bit and kept it as Heat Check kept up the attack with the ball being shared well and some buckets landed as a result, they just couldn’t stop the activity from Trent who had a big 32 to bury them this time around.
The Whoopsy Fudge Stripes had better offense than the defense of their opponent, Ultra Instinct and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Jack O channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 21 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Paul R 12 & Hugh B also helped out in the win with 12 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Jordan P Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 14 points but a loss unfortunately , Jono C had a pretty good game scoring wise with 8 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . Whoopsey back on the court and showing their standard extra human hustle and quick fast break buckets are the key to a victorious night. Ultra did well giving Jordan some shots which he hit well, but the team needed a bigger night from someone, which didn’t come and Whoopsey held onto the lead for the win and the beginning of their S11 winning streak.

Div 3 had some familiar faces and some new ones as the official season started and had some killer games and killer moves that showed the break was used to keep their skills up as the level of competition looks to be promising for a great season.
Parrots started strong and got the jump on The Generals and pushed it all the way to the end. Liam TR heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 19 big ones to conlclude the mission . N Dunstan beasted hard this game finishing on a great 19 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Jordyn W scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 8 points recorded by the bench . Bennett R finished the game with a commendable 7 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Parrots flying out ahead of the pack and did enough to stop the Generals from getting any momentum, stopping their fast break and making their life difficult on the outside. A highly defensive game with a low score as each team hustled at both ends both teams getting stops but Parrots pulled ahead late game. Generals just not able to cover the gap in time and take the L.
Feel Team 6 grinded out a win in back and forth match vs PuntHub in a physical matchup that will set the tone for next time. Cody C led all scorers on a solid 11 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Simon M in a great team effort, scored the same amount with 8 points in the big dominating victory. combining for a a good total to out do the eventual defeated, whos scorers were; Hayden S kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 7 points but a loss unfortunately , Darcy E was feeling good with 5 points worth of buckets in the loss.. Feel team are back and this matchup was close, very close with both teams looking a little rusty despite some nice plays throughout the game. Punthub get a welcoming loss as their run and gun 7 second phoenix suns offense didn’t work this time, Feel Team keeping th pace high which got them the win over Punthub by the buzzer at the end.
Fighting Ducks knew what to expect when they faced Fun Guys and treated it like a playoff game Ivan C couldnt miss much as he led his team with 20 points worth of buckets in the win. . Ishan had his back with a 11 point performance. simply taking over and stifling most of their scorers expect for, Jye W was unconscious and had no remorse for the defense piling in 13 points recorded by the bench , Mattias I 8 & Marley F scored well with 7 points but a loss unfortunately . Ducks were good to go, and had the young upstarts from Saturday joining the comp to try their skills out at night. Ducks were able to get the ball to Ivan who did his things and got buckets, the others pushed forward and shared some scoring and didn’t let Fun Guys get any easy looks. Fun Guys just short on some plays, the Ducks took advantage and saw their lead grow with each bucket, Fun guys fought back but went down for their first loss.
The Divs are set and the par has been set after this round, with new rivalries being born and old ones revisited, it was a good round but stay tuned for the next!
