Grey Geese get it done finally, the elusive 3 peat, and it was the Hogz again, alway sin the finals, and this time werent able to overcome the beast that Grey Geese have been in the finals the last 6 seasons.
This game was a game of buckets from everywhere with the quality of players and plays at a super high level, the pace, fast, the D, stifling. Geese came out with some inside buckets befoe they started getting hot on the 3s, with 5/12 3s shot in the first to Hogzs’ 3/6

2nd quarter had the Hogz start to get a head way with Azza P jumping off the bench and playign it both ways, with 8 points to end this quarter, pushing it inside, but the Hogz werent still hitting or shooting 3s, and that was ok as they brought the game within 2 points, 35-33 Geese still, Farrar with 14 in the game so far with Kristian attacking the paint with 9 points 5 rebs, L Rich was hungry for the ball with 11 boards so far, Hogz had the effort spread, Dan W had 7 so far, and Jake P 6. The 2nd half would be epic no doubt!
3rd quarter had both teams pick up the pace and fire back at each other with threes and 2s, Hogz still giong inside, and HOgz still getting some 2s to keep close, only 6 points in it after this quarter, Johnny getting hotter with 14 points and 3 threes so far, Farrar 4/8 3pts and Kristan wiwth 15pts 7rebs, shilts hogz tried to get some of their scorere going with Dan and Azza still making points with 12 each Hogz needed a run and some stops to bridge the 6 points lead.
4th wouls see Grey Geese keep the attack from outside and as a result keep the lead until the final bell, with Hogz still only putting up half as many threes as Geese, and hitting exactly half also which resulted in an 11 point loss for the UBL powerhouse, outdone on the night by a great squad led by Tom F with 23 points 5 assists, on 50% shooting, 5/11 3s, and Kristan K with 19 points and 9 rebs, L Rich huge with 17 huge rebs and 11 points to get a finals double double!, Johnny M hit some big shots with 14 points and 4 assists.
Hogz had some great performers but most were lemited by the man defense, Azza got 12 points 3 steeals on 56% shooting, Dan W with 12 poitns and 6 rebs, and Jacke on 12 points to help out, but the tale of the game was with the overall team stats, Hogz lost on rebounds, 31-23, and assits 17-10. all other catefories were pretty close. a hugge win by Geese after a slower end of a regular season for them.
Geese have won the last 5 of 6 finals in a dream dominant run, they took s9 (hog hunterz),s10, then Skyhookers ruined their 3 peat, then they took the last 3, s12, s13, s14…What a dynasty! Well done Grey Geese!
Semis Finals Division 2 was great as well with some very close matches…with the final 4 ready to clash!
2nd place Buckets took the game second half from the 3rd place BlackCats in a game that started close but ended one sided. Luke getting some fadeaways to fall to contribute to the result with 19 points to lead all scorers and get the win . Joe E played well as far as getting 15 points to get over the line. 1st place Bellambi Bombers had all their troops ready to do battle with 5th place Splash and luckily scraped up a solid close out victory Dan M got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 22 big ones to conclude the mission . Jed P also helped out in the win with 16 points to his name as he helps lead the boys to a much needed win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Paul G kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 20 points, pulling up Js from the around the paint and beyond. Adrian G played well as far as getting 12 points to end his game . Splash and Bombers the old new rivals, with the fast paced fast breaks and all around 3 point attack of splash, their tried and true formula would be put to the test against the juggernaught of the Bombers. The Bombers had it easy down low with Luke A with some easy put backs from the Bombers 3 point slingers, Dan M hitting 2 threes mid 2nd half to break the game open, cruising, but Splash kept on them with Paul G hitting 3 threes to try catch up with some out of this postcode range, but it wasn’t enough, some icing freethrows from Dan and JEdd in garbage time sealed it, Bombers by 2.
