The first round of the playoffs is here and the teams left are the best in their respective divisions and are due to put on a show for the big matchups this week , starting with Div 1 Quarter Finals. Undefeated Hogz came in first and Streetfighters close behind, the rest would playoff, win or go home!
5th ranked Showtime Shooters took the game second half from the 4th ranked Splashundermanned but pumped up for the challenge. Brooklyn G channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 14 big ones to conlclude the mission . J Bailey finished the game with a commendable 13 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Christian Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 14 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Adrian G finished the game with a commendable 8 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . This game was the game of the round with both teams locked up trading buckets until half time when Showtime Shooters went on a huge run after Splash was up 24-21 and they didn’t score until 7 minutes left in the 2nd a big defensive half from the boys in black. Splash weren’t able to recover and ran out of options after they hit a bunch of shots as a last effort but it was still short and they go home early after a great first season in Div 1! Shooters advance to take on the big dawgs, Hogz!
Div 2 was ready to go as we had some rivalries matchup, the top 8 got busy and faced off to see who would play next week or who goes home early…
1st ranked DellysDisciples started strong and got the jump on 8th place Bohica in a game that started close but ended one sided. Toby S had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 16 points to show hes got some skills to be respected. Jack M had his ducks in a line with a great game on 12 points which was required to keep up in this hectic game. the only resistance coming from, Jayke Z just too much experience shooting the 3 with 20 points as he played his role well and got buckets …Jay H helped out with the load getting 9 points but a loss unfortunately . Dellys had their mid range game going and came out strong with it getting a quick lead on Bohica, which Bohica just weren’t ready for, they pushed their brand of 3s and give and gos but they weren’t able to keep up with the break and paid with an early exit to the playoffs after a pretty solid showing in the regular season, Dellys advance and look to keep their strong play in the Semis…
2nd ranked TheMates wins a resounding victory over the unlucky 7th ranked Fumblerz and set the tone from the start, big mentions to the performers in this game. Cam Bok was unconscious and had no remorse for the defense piling in 17 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Conor P was heating up as he bagged 16 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Danny B kept his average up there for the season with a nice 13 points but a loss unfortunately , Nitin A was feeling good with 8 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . FireBallers got the ball to the wings and pushed it into the middle keeping the Ballers switching and getting the short end of the scoreline by the end, Ballers bounced back late in the season to come up to 6th, only to fall short to a good team effort from FireBallers who advance to the next challenge.
4th seed The Fellas shot the lights out against a helpless 5th ranked Prestige World Wide couldnt stop the unselfish offense they were faced with this game. Ziv Z pushed the break and went home with a tidy 18 points to ensure they get the win this round. Grant C helped out with the load getting 14 points to get over the line. simply out working the other scorers being, Jarod F was shooting well from deep with 13 points in this game. , Benji 3 & Hayden played well as far as getting 3 points in the loss . Fellas had their troops ready to go and got things going from the tip pushing the break and playing some stifling D keeping Prestige shook and unable to get a stop and mount a run, a good recover into 5th spot for Prestige, the matchup this time was tough, they can only get better from here next season! Fellas keen to get busy in the playoffs next week and are playing with confidence!
